Application for a Temporary Residence Permit for a Family Member of an EU Citizen

Only a third country national who is a family member of a citizen of the European Union (EU) is entitled to apply for a temporary residence permit if he/she intends to reside in the territory of the Czech Republic for longer than 3 months.

Citizens of Island, Lichtenstein, Norway, Switzerland are treated as EU citizens for this purpose.

A family member of a British citizen who himself/herself is not a British citizen is entitled to apply for a temporary residence permit only if he/she is a Withdrawal Agreement beneficiary.
